The club was formed in 1932 so will be 80 years old this year. It was formed to provide sport to anglers from the local area and to this day gives preference to people residing within a fifteen mile radius of Fraserburgh but does not exclude anglers from other areas. The “fixed” membership of 115 comprises a mix of experienced
anglers together with juniors, OAP and disabled. Many members have been in the club for more than 25 years. Membership is by waiting list and currently would take about three to four years given the average amount, who do not rejoin.
